Even if the new home you’ve purchased is in “move-in condition”, it can sometimes take a while to feel at home. Most new homeowners have a list of things they might like to change, but with the hustle of moving in, we sometimes put off our decorating plans. Fortunately, there are some basic steps that can be taken to quickly change the look and feel of your new home.
I recently had a friend ask, "Am I shrinking or are beds getting higher?" It reminded me of the song "HIGH ANXIETY" from a Mel Brooks movie. I assured her she was still 5 ft. 5 and explained it is not so much the bed, but the mattress.
I understand how hard it is to find the time and energy to tackle decorating our homes, but maybe this can be our New Year Resolution. I think the first advice I can give is - start small.
Ah Fall! - my favorite time of the year, when my nesting instincts really kick in. Thoughts of curling up on a great comfy sofa, wrapped up in a chenille throw with my latest decorating magazine & a cup of tea... I'm in heaven!
